2010 Inspiration Round-up, or Things I Found Cool in 2010

Here is the 2010 Inspiration round-up, a collection of anything & everything worth saving over the course of the year. It’s kind of a digital scrapbook/moodboard that I use to refer back to at various points, or when I’m stuck for ideas and don’t know where to start. You can view it in the webarchive here (~200mb), or as a smaller more compact 4-up PDF (55mb, right-click to save-as). Enjoy.

For ease of use, and to get with the times I’m transitioning over to Tumblr for this year & moving forward. I still like the manual way I’ve been doing it, but it’s just gotten too unwieldily and Tumblr is a little better for managing that.

Fireworks Abstracted

A lot of fireworks pictures make their way online around this time. Thought I’d try something a little different to mix it up a bit, and do a little experimenting.

These are my Ontario Place Canada Day fireworks photos, as seen through my window screen, out of focus, high ISO and at 300mm. Nice and gritty, just the way I like it. Tweaked the colours a bit in Lightroom to get a good spread.

June 2010 – Out of the office & across the ocean

I’ve been out and about on a trip for most of the month of June. My first time visiting London, Morocco, Spain & Ireland. The trip has been amazing so far and I can’t wait to get back and take a crack at editing all the photos I’ve taken thus far.

We’ve seen some amazing people, places and things on this trip, and I hope I was able to capture some of that magic in my photography. I will be returning on the 25th, and hope to tackle the photo editing within a week or two when time permits.

I still have regular access to email, so feel free to get in touch if you need to reach me about anything. Some exciting projects already lined up for the remaining summer months!

In No Particular Order… Things I Found Cool in 2009: A Digital Scrapbook

This is a pdf compilation of the folder I keep on my computer where I put things I come across that are worth saving. Whether they be cool, inspirational, unique, funny, or give me some sort of random creative spark. I just drop it into a folder, and pop in from time to time to have a look. I’ve been doing it for the past couple years, basically just as a place to dump stuff that clutters up my computer. Recently though, I thought that it might be a good idea to keep it a little more organized and somewhat coherent.

I’ve got pretty simple setup now to keep things slowly flowing in, and a simple php script spits out everything in this folder to a fairly viewer friendly single-scrolling page. If anyone cares to check in, feel free to load up 2010′s folder at any time and see what’s up.
